Job overview

The Care Coach Team, within the Corporate Nursing Education Department, has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated senior nurse who wants to make a positive difference in patient care through the recruitment and education of HCSW.

This is a part-time position 30 hours, during week days,  to cover both hospitals, Royal Stoke and County, working with several services and disciplines across the Trust and with external partners.

Main duties of the job

To support the Lead Nurse, Lead Care Coach & Senior Care Coach in the development & delivery of education and support programmes for Nursing/ Maternity Assistants within the UHNM.

Promote & implement initiatives aimed at developing & enhancing the quality of Nursing Assistants & support them in their continuing professional development to enable them to achieve agreed competencies.

Act as a credible & professional role model; supporting the Lead Nurse & Senior Care Coach in the pastoral role for Nursing/Maternity Assistants within the post holders defined clinical area of responsibility. 

Ensure that all members of the multidisciplinary team adopt a collaborative approach to patient care, placing the patient at the centre of all decision making & promote the importance of fundamental care at all times. Report directly to the Lead Nurse for Nursing/Maternity Assistants.

Essential criteria
  • Degree in Nursing or Midwifery and Nursing
  • Registration with NMC
Desirable criteria
  • Teaching qualification
  • Evidence of CPD

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 3 years post registration
  • Teaching experience (formal/informal)
Desirable criteria
  • Formal teaching experience within clinical environment
  • Practice supervisor/assessor
