Job overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic person with significant and current experience in either EPRR in an Acute Hospital setting or significant experience in a senior clinical or managerial role.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Head of Resilience & EPRR in the delivery of key aspects of the EPRR agenda including but not limited to plan development, EPRR specific training, plan validation through exercising and managing external assurance requirements. 

Main duties of the job

The role will involve working with clinical and non-clinical colleagues both within UHNM but also across the local and wider health economy.

You must have strong evidence of delivering a self-managed workload and meeting deadlines in key projects within the last 18 months together with evidence of strong personal characteristics of holding a reputation for engaging with colleagues, influencing and political astuteness.

We are looking to recruit someone with the relevant knowledge, qualifications and experience in the health service that will engage with colleagues at all levels, across organisations to deliver statutory standards expected and to provide assurance where required. Reporting to the Head of Resilience & EPRR and accountable to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, you must be a highly organised person that can demonstrate delivery in previous corporate and / or Divisional roles within a complex organisation.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring the Trust meets its statutory obligations under the Civil Contingencies Act (2004) and complies with all relevant EPRR guidance for the NHS, including non-statutory guidance that accompanies the Civil Contingencies Act including business continuity and resilience preparedness.

Essential criteria
  • Degree level qualification
  • Registered Nurse or Health Professional
Desirable criteria
  • Professional qualification/registration in a healthcare discipline
  • Recognised teaching qualification or proven experience of formal trainingin health care setting

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Broad range of leadership management
  • 3 years NHS Operational/Clinical experience in a senior role & previous Emergency Planning experience in the NHS
  • Evidence of continuing professional developmentin Emergency Planning and BCM or Clinical/Opeatinal area
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in Emergency Planning Officer role within an acute hospital
  • Experience in a senior operational or managerial role in an acute setting
