Operating Theatres County Hospital Stafford 

We have an exciting opportunity for applications from enthusiastic individuals to work within our busy 7 theatre complex as a senior operating department practitioner in anaesthetics.

We are looking for a Theatre Practitioner,   Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner for full time position.

Theatre is a fast paced environment where a positive attitude, energy and innovation are welcomed. As a team leader you will be expected to deliver high standards of perioperative care, and have the ability to support and develop your own skills and facilitate / support and develop the team to provide excellent patient care within the department.

We ask that applicants have a minimum of 2 years’ experience at band 5 and can demonstrate leadership skills and qualities. You will be expected to lead a team in theatre and at times the department.

 

 

Main duties of the job

We require you to have excellent anaesthetic skills, the successful candidate will work a 4 day week that will include weekends and a night rota.

In turn, we can offer you a structured preceptorship and induction programme for all new members of staff, plus access to on-going continuing professional education and development, appraisal and clinical supervision.

Please understand that although this position is at County hospital we are one hospital with Royal Stoke and you may-be required to work there on occasion.

Operating department practitioner taking responsibility for the smooth running of the operating list supporting the anaesthetist and team in theatre. To work as part of the crash team throughout the hospital supporting patient transfers between the 2 hospitals.
