Applications are invited for 0.55 wte -8 month fixed term contract (end date 31.08.21) B5 Orthoptic post based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital (RSUH) - services provided at RSUH, community outreach clinics and orthoptic led vision screening.
The post holders will work alongside 10 orthoptists, 5 orthoptic assistants, 3 clerical staff and will work closely with 2 paediatric Consultant Ophthalmologists - as well as 8 other consultant ophthalmologists.
We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated applicants, capable of working individually and as part of a team. The post holder will gain a wide range of clinical experience including paediatric, SEN, adult ocular motility, trauma / Max Fax, Stroke and neuro-ophthalmology assessment including Goldmann visual fields.
Main duties of the job
The department is an HCPC validated training centre for undergraduate orthoptists - a qualification in this area would be desirable.
We strongly value lifelong learning and we actively encourage CPD and evidence based practice & research.
You must hold a degree or diploma in orthoptics and be registered with the HCPC.

- BSC or equivalent in Orthoptics
