Band 5 operational support Manager and reporting Co-ordinator

The IM&T team form an integral role within UHNM in supporting all staff with IT requirements and troubleshooting issues. This support provides a crutch for patient care and as IT capability continues to improve this requirement becomes more and more valuable. There are approximately 12000 staff located over two main sites with additional satellite wards which expand and retract in line with demand.

This new role will be based within the IM&T Service Delivery team which is responsible for providing two prongs of support for users. There is a first line support team/IT Helpdesk with 6 Full Time Equivalent staff, who field circa 350 requests per day. These calls are then either handled by the service desk team or allocated to additional support teams depending on the diagnosis of the issue and the level of complexity. The other prong is the Desktop Support team who are a group of 10 Full Time Equivalent technical engineers. The Desktop team are a mobile support team reaching out to users across the Trust and assisting with a wide range of IT issues from application installs to equipment moves and device management.
