Job overview

There is an exciting opportunity for a Senior triage nurse within the Emergency Department at the Royal Stoke. The Royal Stoke Emergency Department is a major Trauma Centre and sees in excess of 400 patients a day.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate must show a passion for emergency medicine, have worked within an emergency department for more than 5 years and have at least 3 years triage experience.  Applicants need to be  able to work under extreme pressures and to ensure the quality and safety of our patients at all times. They will be expected to  assist in developing the front of the department  and also have some experience in managing staff and working along side the senior team.

Major trauma experience, leadership, supporting others development and continued learning are all qualities that would be required within this role.

RN Adult

Essential criteria
  • 5 years minimum ED experience

Evidence of leadership

Essential criteria
  • In excess of 12 months senior staff nurse within the ED
Desirable criteria
  • Undertaken leadership qualification

Clinically credible

Essential criteria
  • Has evidence of running departmental area's and trauma experience
Desirable criteria
  • Has passed a nationally accredited trauma qualification.

Has proven degree or masters

Essential criteria
  • Proof of post reg education
Positive about disabled peopleAge positiveArmed Forces Covenant Gold Award
