Royal Stoke University Hospital is a large, acute hospital in the West Midlands and offers a broad range of medical and surgical specialties. We have excellent transport links, being close to the M6 and A50, and lie roughly centrally between Manchester and Birmingham to the North and South, and Derby and Shrewsbury to the East and West

The Heart Centre provides tertiary cardiology and cardiac surgery services for over 2 million people across Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire and South Cheshire, as well secondary care cardiology for the local population.

Opportunity had arisen to join our team. This Assistant Cardiothoracic Heart Centre Scheduler role is pivotal in our patient’s pathway, ensuring that they access tertiary services in a timely fashion. The post holder will build successful professional relationships with our Multi-Disciplinary Team, secondary care partners, patients and their relatives helping to improve patient experience and access to the cardiothoracic.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with effective organizational and communication skills to join our team in striving for the highest standards of care for our patients. The successful candiate must have a positive outlook and ability to inspire and support the team.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of organising and prioritising patient work load
  • Excellent communication skills and flexibility in order to deliver the service
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in the NHS
  • To be proficient in Microsoft Office programmes with experience of setting up spreadsheets to record data for reports
