Job overview

AMU has recently secured a new workforce model to expand its current workforce in line with the needs of the service.  Within this new workforce is the implementation of a new team 'acute medicine enhanced patient facilitator's' to work closely with the nurse in charge and assist in the co-ordination of the patient flow throughout the acute medicine floor. 

This role will require the right candidate to have excellent communication skills, motivated and passionate about patient flow, patient safety and patient quality.  

 

Main duties of the job

This new role will include escalating patient waits through the escalation process and will be the representation at bed meetings for the acute medicine floor.  The successful candidates will be expected to facilitate and attend AMU huddles and attend regular board rounds within acute medicine.  

Within this role you will be expected with support from the senior sister to hold supervision for the band 3 discharge facilitator team and co-ordinate their workload as necessary.

  • Presently working within an NHS environment

  • Previous experience in similar role, such as DF, Progress chaser, pt flow
  • Evidence of ability to work under pressure
  • Evidence of problem solving

  • Previous experience working in a NHS Trust
