We are seeking to appoint a proactive, enthusiastic and dedicated professional to the full time post of Assistant Librarian at County Hospital in Stafford. As part of a small friendly team at one of two Health Libraries at the Trust, the role is wide ranging with opportunities for development. The library is open 24/7 and is currently staffed Monday – Friday 8.30-5pm.
Main duties of the job
As Assistant Librarian your role is to help satisfy the information needs of employees of the Trust both clinical and non-clinical, students on placement, and staff at partner organisations A team player, you will have a relevant professional qualification alongside proven experience in a health or academic library environment. You will have excellent communication and customer care skills and a keen interest in helping people navigate evidence based resources, including delivering training and carrying out literature searches. An aptitude for marketing and promotion, excellent IT skills and an enthusiasm for developing the service are also key to this role.
