We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapists to undertake posts within the Therapy Teams at Royal Stoke and County Hospitals. The post offers a wide range of opportunities to work in an exciting University Hospital, which is a Major Trauma Centre; has close links with the local University and offers connections to be involved in current research. The post holder will be part of a large integrated therapy team, within multiple varied clinical areas, across two hospital sites – Royal Stoke and County hospital and offers inpatient and outpatient experience.

Rotations include Hand therapy; Acute Rehab Trauma Unit, Emergency Portals; Medicine, including NIV; Frail Elderly; General Surgery, including amputees; Oncology and Trauma and Orthopaedics including a Fractured Neck of Femur Ward.

The successful applicant will be involved in acute rehabilitation and early supported discharge planning within a range of different conditions, linking in with community support services to facilitate safe and timely transfer from hospital.

Supervision and clinical support will be provided by Band 6/7 Occupational Therapists, in addition to senior and peer Physiotherapy support. Continuous professional development is supported through annual appraisals and internal and external training, as well as a structured band 5 in service training programme. Our band 5 Occupational Therapists can gain experience in a supervisory role with students and our therapy technicians, who work generically over Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. This allows development of their leadership skills and help support career progression.

We have advanced and expanded our Therapy teams, to allow us to offer a 7 day therapy service, therefore the post holder will be involved in weekend working, late shifts and bank holidays once sufficient competencies are achieved.

We are a warm and welcoming team who relish in the development and support of our junior staff
