Job overview

We are looking to increase the number of volunteers within our Accident and Emergency department, these Volunteers’ will make a huge difference to the time our patients will spend at UHNM.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join a well-established, respected and innovative Emergency Department and applications are invited from individuals 18yrs old or above with a passion to volunteer.

Main duties of the job

A&E Volunteers will be assisting patients in navigating the department and ensuring patients are guided to the correct area within the department.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Meet and greet users of the service and provide a welcome.

Enable patients and visitors to access the department where appropriate

Assist patients and relatives to access the information they require i.e. direct patients and visitors to appropriate Wards and Departments.

Ensure that Waiting Area is kept tidy.

Assist with refreshments for patients at busy periods as required.

Run errands on behalf of the Department.
